Spotlight on Just Transition in Jiu Valley: Lessons from WP1 Shared in Lupeni

Pur și Simplu Verde presented the key findings of Work Package 1 in Lupeni as part of the ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts

As part of the AdJUST project’s ongoing dissemination activities, Dr. Ioana Petrescu (Pur și Simplu Verde) presented the key findings of Work Package 1 at the historic Palatul Minerului in Lupeni on August 1st, 2025.

The presentation highlighted the stakeholder engagement workshops held in 2023 in the Hunedoara region, which brought together local stakeholders (from unions and municipalities to NGOs, educators, and clergy) to explore what a just energy transition means for the region.

The session emphasized the importance of listening to communities directly affected by the decline of coal and heavy industry and underscored AdJUST’s role in connecting local voices to national and European decision-making processes.
